VIDEO - The First Four Minutes Of ‘Now You See Me’ Grabs You And Doesn’t Let Go

One of the key elements of a great heist film is the introduction of the ones pulling off the caper. If we don’t believe that the characters have the ability to pull it off, it doesn’t matter how inventive it was, we as the audience just will not believe.

As I am a sucker for a great heist movie, I have been following the very intriguing looking Now You Can See Me directed by Louis Letterier. I am really digging it as it seems to be a very original and fresh take on one of the oldest genres of film.

We have been teased by great trailers and images, now the folks at Fandango have posted the first four minutes of the film.

It is absolutely fantastic. It is one of the best introductions of a character set I have seen in a long time.

I was all the way by the time the second character was introduced. After watching this, this film has now vaulted to top of my sleeper pick list for the year. All the pieces are teasing us with a fun experience.

Hopefully the reveal will live up to the lofty expectations the marketing has built.

Ok, I have to also say this. The card I picked during the Jesse Eisenberg bit was actually the one that he did the bit with on the building.

So smart.

Check it out below and I will definitely see you opening weekend.

About The Film The Four Horsemen, a magic super-group led by the charismatic ATLAS (Jesse Eisenberg), perform a pair of high-tech magic shows, first astonishing audiences by robbing a bank on another continent, and then exposing a white-collar criminal and funneling his millions into the audience members’ bank accounts.

FBI Special Agent DYLAN (Mark Ruffalo) is determined to make the magicians pay for their crimes—and to stop them before they pull off what promises to be an even more audacious heist. But he’s forced to partner with ALMA (Melanie Laurent), an Interpol detective about whom he is instantly suspicious. Out of desperation he turns to THADDEUS (Morgan Freem

an), a famed magic debunker, who claims the bank heist was accomplished using disguises and video trickery. One thing Dylan and Alma agree on is that the Horsemen must have an outside point person, and that finding him (or her) is key to ending the magicians’ crime spree. Could it be Thaddeus? Or Alma? Or could it really be…magic?

Trailer For Crazy Good Looking Heist Film ‘Now You See Me’

So far I have seen absolutely nothing wrong with anything to do with the highly inventive Now You See MeThe first trailer caught every one (including myself) off guard on the potential of it. The story is a great original one (which is rare these days) and the cast is pretty stacked.

A new trailer dropped a while back in the midst of all the craziness and I almost missed it. Luckily I didn’t because it’s a great one.

Check it out below and let me know in the comment section below if you are digging this like I am.

Very Inventive Poster And Three High-Res Images For Inventive Heist Film ‘Now You See Me’

One of the films that I am very intrigued to check out is the heist film Now You See Me. Partly because the cast is stacked, partly because the trailer that dropped a while back looked absolutely fantastic, but mostly because I am a huge fan of heists movies.

The film which, follows an FBI squad on the heels of a team of bank-robbing magicians who share their profits with the audience looks inventive as hell and they have just released a poster that seems to perfectly capture that. The studio has also released three more high-res images to follow up on the ones released before.

Check them all out below and let me know in the comments section on whether this one interests you at all.

Hello There Red-Band Trailer of @MMadnessTIFF Playing ‘The Seven Psycopaths’ #TIFF12

I was only kind of feeling this film when it was announced. After it got picked up in the esteemed Midnight Madness Lineup for #TIFF12, it really started to grab my attention. Then the first trailer and some character posters dropped and I begin to think we might be on to something. Now we have ourselves a very bad-ass Red-Band Trailer and you know what? I am ALL THE WAY in with this film. It looks like a fun ride powered by some pretty damn awesome performances.

Check out the trailer and see you there.

About the Film
Martin McDonagh (In Bruges) wrote and directed Seven Psychopaths which reunites him with actor Colin Farrell who plays a screenwriter struggling for inspiration for his script, which just so happens to be called Seven Psychopaths, who gets drawn into the dog kidnapping schemes of his oddball friends (played by Sam Rockwell & Christopher Walken). But things take a turn for the worse when a gangster’s (Woody Harrelson) mutt goes missing. CBS Films will release Seven Psychopaths in theaters this fall on October 12th.

Character Posters For The #TIFF12 @mmadnessTIFF Playing ‘Seven Psychopaths’

We recently brought you the trailer and now we have some character posters for the upcoming and highly anticipated Seven Psychopaths (highly anticipated by and everyone else who is going to Midnight Madness anyways). The movie looks great and these posters that break down all of the characters fit perfectly with the vibe so far.

Check them out below and see you at TIFF.
(And remember, you can click on them to make them all big and stuff).

About the Film
Marty (Colin Farrell) is a struggling writer who dreams of finishing his screenplay ‘Seven Psychopaths’. All he needs is a little focus and inspiration. Billy (Sam Rockwell) is Marty’s best friend, an unemployed actor and part time dog thief, who wants to help Marty by any means necessary. Hans (Christopher Walken) is Billy’s partner in crime, a religious man with a violent past. Charlie (Woody Harrelson) is the psychopathetic gangster whose beloved dog, Billy and Hans have just stolen. Charlie’s unpredictable, extremely violent and wouldn’t think twice about killing anyone or anything associated with the theft. Marty is going to get all the focus and inspiration he needs, just as long as he lives to tell the tale.

"Seven Psychopaths" Trailer Starring Colin Farrell And Sam Rockwell

The movie also stars Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken and Woody Harrelson.

Trailer for Game Change starring Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin. And man it’s a doozy…and awesome!

The HBO Films production of Game Change has been receiving a lot of attention partly because of the subject matter being John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign, from his selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate, to their ultimate defeat in the general election. It also has been getting a lot of attention for the rawness of the storytelling based on the book by John Heilemann Mark Halperin. What really got on people’s radar was Julianne Moore's uncanny portrayal of Sarah Palin. Well it seems that HBO has not forgotten to make a good movie. A full trailer has just dropped and at first glance the movie is living up to the hype. It looks great, Moore looks great as Palin, Ed Harris looks great as McCain and by all indications we are going to get an unflinching look at the campaign that never really was. I am all in for this one. About the Film:

Starring Julianne Moore, Woody Harrelson and Ed Harris, HBO Films’ GAME CHANGE follows John McCain’s (Harris) 2008 presidential campaign, from his selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin (Moore) as his running mate to their ultimate defeat in the general election. Harrelson portrays Steve Schmidt, McCain’s senior campaign strategist. Based on the bestselling book “Game Change,” by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, the film is directed by Jay Roach and written by Danny Strong, whose previous collaboration was HBO’s Emmy Award winning film, ‘Recount. A Playtone Production in association with Everyman Pictures; executive producers, Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman and Jay Roach.

Here it is …Check out the first Hunger Games trailer

So kids, the moment you Hunger Games fans have been waiting for is here. The first full trailer for the highly anticipated movie has dropped and it doesn’t suck. Actually it’s not bad. It’s not great, however with it being so early in its development, it doesn’t look bad at all. There is a stil a lot to add because the story is quite a bit longer than just the start, however I love how Lenny Kravitz looks in this and Woody Harrelson seems like a great fit. Everything and everyone I’m still on the fence on. For now, I am cautiously optimistic. (Head over to the Apple trailers site for an HD version)

Lenny, Woody, Elizabeth and the whole gang - The Hunger Games Character Posters

The Hunger Games marketing is starting to bring out some of the good stuff. The teaser trailer that dropped really didn’t show anything but it did create a bit of a frenzy around the movie. Based on the Suzanne Collins' book trilogy, the studio is betting pretty heavily on Hunger Games reaching Twilight craziness and hence a franchise they can count on. I haven't read the books yet and based on what I have seen so far, I am not really feeling this…yet. Let's see what comes up after this. For now we are given character posters of the main characters. We get our first look at at Woody Harrelson as Haymitch, Lenny Kravitz as Cinna, Elizabeth Banks as Effie, Amandia Stenberg as Rue, Alexander Ludwig as Cato, as well as some brooding looks at Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, Liam Hemsworth as Gale, and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta. Hunger Games centers on Katniss, a young woman who must survive a televised fight to the death between her and teenagers from other the other districts of Panem. In the post-apocalyptic world of the book, North America is now referred to as Panem and is divided up into twelve districts that each specialize in manufacturing a specific good for the nation, which is all under control of the Capitol. The movie opens March 23rd, 2012. Here are the character posters: (click on the image to get a super-high res version) Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss:

Official Synopsis:

Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
